Today is Easter. Where historically Good Friday has been a day of remembering how undeserving we are of the cross, Easter has always been a joyous remembrance of our risen Lord and the joy of our hope in him.

Remember today that “there is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” Christ has risen and because he has risen, he has shown all the powers of death and of darkness that there is one that is greater and Death shall have no more dominion over him who has overcome, and in us who find our hope in him.

Indeed because he has overcome all the forces of darkness we know “that our Redeemer lives, and that at last he will stand upon the earth.” And that because he lives we can indeed “approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” So that in this life we may endure, and at the last days we may, by the redemption of our bodies found in Jesus Christ, “see God, whom I shall see on my side, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.”

He is risen! Indeed, he is risen! Maranatha.
